About SLABsense
SLABsense monitors buildings that are showing signs of movement, and repairs them if the movement looks to be damaging the building or property. Most cracks are not subsidence. Working out which sort you are dealing with, before anyone starts digging, is usually the difference between hundreds of pounds and thousands.
That is the SLABsense mantra, measure first, then act on what the measurements actually show.

Why we started SLABsense
We've spent over 20 years in ground engineering and tunnelling, and kept running into the same conversation. An asset owner spots a crack, panics, rings round for quotes, and gets a price for underpinning from a firm that only sells underpinning. Nobody had measured anything, and therefore the client was always given the same, often expensive, option.
Plenty of those buildings were not moving at all. Some were, but seasonally, and would have settled on their own if the situation had been monitored over time.
SLABsense exists to give asset and homeowners the chance to understand what is happening beneath their feet before jumping into a costly repair. If your building is stationary, then you get a report saying so, if it needs further attention then we can assist with the fix. All driven by data, leaving the decision to you.
What makes us different
Most businesses in this market are repair businesses. They arrive, they assess, and the assessment tends to conclude in a repair being required. It also happens that it is the repair they happen to sell.
We start with crack and movement monitoring over a defined period to give you evidence rather than an opinion, and that evidence is what insurers and engineers will ask for before granting a payout.
Where we differ from the monitoring-only surveyors is what happens next. If the data shows genuine movement, we carry out the repair ourselves, whether that is crack repair or wider structural repair. You are not handed a report and left to find a contractor.
We’re a one stop shop from for crack issues, and you’re shown the data and talked through the process every step of the way, giving you confidence to make the right decision for your property.
